INSPIRATIONAL SINGER

Cape Town-born Inspirational singer and recording artist Rouchelle Liedemann has been applauded as one of South Africa’s most celebrated vocalists since the age of 18 when she impressed judges at the ‘Reach for the Stars’ national singing competition with a performance that would see her being presented with the trophy for ‘Overall Winner’ of the competition. She has since gone on to a successful professional singing career with memorable and impacting performances on stages across South Africa, multiple appearances on television, regular play listings of her music on radio and inspiring thousands through half a dozen albums and her inspirational lyrics and smooth but powerful voice.

Recent performances include the 2011 Huisgenoot Gospel Skouspel staged at the Artscape Opera House in Cape Town where she performed alongside Juanita Du Plessis and Romanz. She also performed at the RSG Radio valentines day breakfast which was broadcast live to more than 1.8 million listeners around the country.

In October 2010, Rouchelle was requested to perform at the opening and closing ceremonies of Lausanne 2010, a request which would see her performing several solo items for over 4 000 international delegates representing 200 countries around the world at the opening and closing ceremonies of the 3rd Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Rouchelle’s beautiful performance was supported by a 150 member choir, a philharmonic orchestra, 30 African drummers and a host of cheerful dancers in traditional African attire. Her performances were broadcast live around the world in 73 countries.

In May of 2010 Rouchelle was asked to open the concert for international Christian music sensation and multiple Dove Award winner, Michael W. Smith who toured South Africa. This performance would see Rouchelle taking to the stage and inspiring more than 10 000 fans with her singing.

Her latest album, ‘Nuwe Begin’ (translated: New Beginning) contains a mixture of English and Afrikaans songs and includes several deeply moving original songs with a fresh, new acoustic / contemporary feel. The album was nominated for a SAMA award at the South African Music Awards just 6 months after it’s release in 2010.

Upon request, Rouchelle has performed on many of the finest stages in the country including the Cape Town City Hall, The Grand Arena at Grand West in Cape Town and the prestigious Artscape Opera House in Cape Town which hosts the annual World Aids Day gala concert at which Rouchelle has been requested to perform inspirational songs against the backdrop of beautiful philharmonic orchestration. Rouchelle is also a regular artist at the annual Radio Tygerberg Gospel Skouspel concert which showcases the countries best in South African Afrikaans Christian music. Rouchelle sang for an audience of more than 5 000 people at the 2010 Gospel Skouspel which was held at the prestigious Grand Arena in Cape Town.

Rouchelle is passionate about using her music to make a difference to the lives of others and performs for organizations such as Missing Children South Africa and various other NPO’s who rely on fundraising events to do be able to do what they do. Rouchelle Liedemann is considered by professionals in the music industry to be one of the finest singers to ever come out of South Africa. On a personal level, her greatest passion is simply to inspire people to a closer walk with Jesus Christ through her singing.
